Year 3 & 4 History Project

The Year 3 and 4 students have been putting on their detective hats over the past few weeks and are investigating the history of our school and community. We have found some amazing photos, articles and stories about our school's past. We are planning to create a digital story about the history of the school.

We Need Your Help...

As we have already discovered, there is so much information about the history, but the hardest part is organising it. We also seem to run out of work each week. So rather than wait until Thursday, any information you find can be added to this site once you have logged in. We will be putting up all of the information we have tracked down here for everyone to see.

Another important point - if we can get some input from other people living in the Ringwood North Community who may have gone to the school, or even have some old photos of the area, we would love to have your input.

So over to you Grade 3 & 4 - show us what you can do!

Ringwood North Primary School 'came to life' in late 1923. The then head teacher Mr Rowland Mason had to bring 15 children to school in his horse and buggy to ensure that the school opened with students in attendance. The school was built on donated land offered by a Mr W S Willams. Ringwood North PRimary School was built amid orchards and busland on a 2 acre site. Mr Mason was appointed in a temporary capacity and despite many parent requests to keeo him at the school he was replaced for the start of the 1924 school year by Miss Jessie Patison.

Every year Ringwood North Primary School’s 3’s - 6’s race in a Cross Country race. Most of the school raced to se who would win. Teachers say the age groups. All of the 3’s – 4’s race first. When the teachers find out the top 10 people, they go on to district. The first top 10 out of 80 go onto zone.

But on Tuesday’s there’s the big bad Cross Country traning. You have to run 6 laps of the oval. It’s really tiring. Most people got in.

Cross Country is very good for the school because it gets you fit and healthy, it also trains you to be an athlete. The End!!
